I can taste the figs! But, there are no figs.

My Dad always called this stuff Christmas Pud, but we never had any growing up. My mother used to make Dark Christmas Cake covered in royal icing and that was a lot of work and intense work. My mother would sometimes mention clootie dumplings, too, but we never had any of those either. So, when an opportunity came up to have a tiny Rabbie Burns supper with a friend I bought one each so that we could experience them together. What a delight! Will buy these again . . . only more of them to share with everyone I know and not just that one friend. :-)

Oh, yeah: peel, heat and eat. Alternatively, peel, heat and pour evaporated milk on it and eat.
