About Edinburgh Tea & Coffee Co.
Edinburgh Tea and Coffee Company legacy revolves around becoming the ultimate resource in freshness, taste and bespoke quality to the retail and food service industries. Tracing their heritage all the way back to 1812 when sailing ships brought their precious cargoes from the New World into the port of Leith. It wasn’t till 1835, that the first merchant to land tea in Britain on the Tea Clipper Isabella was Andrew Melrose - founder of Melrose’s Tea Company. The Edinburgh Tea and Coffee Company was formed in 1990, following a management buyout of the Melrose Tea Company. We are honored to be affiliated with the Melrose’s name since quality has been linked with it from the beginning. By continuing to maintain the same high standards today as Andrew Melrose insisted upon 200 years ago, they have grown from being a small local roaster into a modern tea and coffee producer. Sourcing the finest tea leaves and coffee beans from around the world and using traditional artisan methods to create a range of very special teas and coffees, they remain one of Scotland’s oldest artisan tea and coffee manufacturers.
